WV SBDC partners with Patriot Guardens for two-part small business training sessions in Nicholas County, Jan. 10

No fee for business fundamentals event sponsored by RDFC

SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. — For the first time, the West Virginia Small Business Development Center is teaming with the West Virginia National Guard’s Patriot Guardens initiative to offer free business fundamentals training in two sessions. The two-part workshop will be held at the New River Community and Technical College’s Nicholas County Campus, 6101 Webster Road, Summersville. Business Coach Harold Patterson will lead Session I. Business Coach Shannon Mitchell will lead Session II.

Get a head start on your holiday shopping—and support local businesses—with Shop Small in July!

An extension of the nationwide movement Shop Small Saturday that traditionally falls on the first Saturday after Black Friday, Shop Small West Virginia was launched by the West Virginia Small Business Development Center and the Small Business Administration West Virginia District to inspire retailers to reach out to the estimated 40 percent of consumers who start their holiday shopping before Halloween.

Your Business Has A Credit Score Too!

A recent Manta survey revealed that 72 percent of business owners didn’t realize they have a business credit score. WV SBDC: Big Advantage for Small Businesses

Even when you love what you do, running a business is hard work. It helps to have an extra edge.

The West Virginia Small Business Development Center (WV SBDC) is that edge for hundreds of West Virginia companies each year. Our mission is to help businesses sharpen their skills, grow strong and sustain success in West Virginia.

The WV SBDC helps generate businesses, successes and jobs for West Virginia’s economy. In the first six months of 2017, WV SBDC business coaches provided counseling to 733 clients, helped start 41 businesses and connected clients with more than $11,794,500 in loans or equity. Their efforts led to the creation or retention of 375 jobs in the Mountain State.
