No fee for business fundamentals event sponsored by RDFC
SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. — For the first time, the West Virginia Small Business Development Center is teaming with the West Virginia National Guard’s Patriot Guardens initiative to offer free business fundamentals training in two sessions. The two-part workshop will be held at the New River Community and Technical College's Nicholas County Campus, 6101 Webster Road, Summersville. Business Coach Harold Patterson will lead Session I. Business Coach Shannon Mitchell will lead Session II.
Session I focuses on business fundamentals that entrepreneurs need to know to start a business in West Virginia. The first segment runs from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Session II dives deeper into the pros and cons of different business structures and the related recordkeeping. The second training event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Participants can take both sessions back-to-back at no cost. The Regional Development Funding Corporation (RDFC) has extended its sponsorship of WV SBDC business fundamentals workshops through March 31, 2019. The sponsorship allows WV SBDC to offer the workshops without the standard $35 registration fee.
The Patriot Guardens initiative provides new economic and employment opportunities, especially in the agricultural sector. Although designed particularly for veterans and military personnel, the program is open to all West Virginians. More information about Patriot Guardens is available at http://www.wv.ng.mil/PatriotGuardens/.
