CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia Small Business Development Center (WV SBDC) Business Coach Beth Fish has completed the Certified Business Advisor (CBA) program at Kent State University.
The CBA program is a professional certification designed to equip advisors with in-depth knowledge and skills to effectively support small business owners. The program covers key areas such as finance, accounting, marketing and human resources, enabling graduates to provide comprehensive guidance in business development, strategic planning and financial management.

“I’m honored to have completed the Certified Business Advisor program through Kent State University,” Fish said. “This training has strengthened my ability to support small business owners and entrepreneurs, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving our communities with greater knowledge and resources.”
Fish is a WV SBDC Business Coach at the Oak Hill Center, where she serves entrepreneurs and small business owners across eight counties: Braxton, Fayette, Greenbrier, Monroe, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Summers and Webster.
Fish joined the WV SBDC in May 2021 as a Business Navigator, quickly becoming a valued resource for startups and existing businesses throughout the region. Prior to her appointment as Business Coach in August, she served as the agency’s Special Projects Coordinator, where she played a vital role in state-level initiatives and internal operations, including project management, event planning, and strategic planning aligned with the SBDC’s mission of statewide economic growth.
The WV SBDC, an accredited partner program with the U.S. Small Business Administration, a division of the West Virginia Division of Economic Development, helps small businesses at all stages of development by connecting owners to programs, resources, and coaches.
