It was a personal health issue that first set Stacy Roman on the path to helping others.
“I was extremely sick growing up. The medical society was puzzled with what was going on because I looked healthy, but internally I was struggling,” she said.
It wasn’t until she visited an acupuncturist and alternative medicine provider that she was able to obtain relief from her pain and gain back her quality of life.
Services for a Variety of Needs
Today, Roman is a licensed acupuncturist, massage therapist and wellness provider who brings her experience to Roman’s Wellness Center in Morgantown. The clinic offers two types of services.
“We have an organic spa where we do facials, massage therapy, body contouring and mini spalike services,” she said. “Then I focus primarily on chronic illness, pain, infertility treatments, and solving mysteries of what’s going on with your body when it comes to health and wellness.”
The clinic offers several unique services like biohacking and halo salt therapy.
“We are one of the few clinics in the area that has a multifaceted biohacking, which is cryotherapy, pressure therapy, oxygen therapy–things that you really can’t get under one roof anywhere else.”
The clinic also has a salt room where guests can relax to relieve lung issues, migraines, or even anxiety, she added.
Working With a Small Business Coach
Roman credits much of her success to the close working relationship she has formed with WV SBDC Small Business Coach Sharon Stratton, who has provided support and information on a range of questions and concerns.
“It’s so enjoyable to work with someone who is so knowledgeable about acupuncture and all these different medical spa services,” Stratton said. “She’s always full of ideas.”
As a small business owner, Roman said she enjoys having the flexibility to do what she wants to better the community by providing a service that is needed in the area. She encourages others to reach out to the WV SBDC when they need help with a startup or expansion.
“They take a very personal touch and feel about how you can expand your business and it is an opportunity that’s free of charge,” she said.
